HYPERTHERM TECHNOLOGY
At IronPig, we specialize in custom metal cutting. We offer solutions using advanced Hypertherm CNC plasma cutting technology. Our experience allows us to design and manufacture metal products that stand out for their aesthetics, balance, and harmony. Our commitment to quality and innovation guarantees precise results and optimal work. We place special emphasis on customer satisfaction. We undertake residential, commercial, and industrial projects throughout Chile.
Plasma cutting technology uses a high-temperature ionized gas to produce a very hot, high-energy-density arc that can cut steel of different types and thicknesses. The automatic cutting method is the X-Y cutting table, along with Computer Numerical Control (CNC). Automatic cutting uses software, electronic systems, and other programmable means to direct the cutting process.
The assembly of the pieces is done manually with MIG welding. Many metal finishes and surface treatments are done by hand, such as filing to remove slag and irregularities on the edges produced during cutting. Also, polishing, which involves the use of hand tools to shape and smooth surfaces. We perform this work on all pieces, large or small, as each product requires a high level of detail. Manual methods are crucial to achieve a precise and aesthetic final result.
The CNC is the primary communication interface between the operator and the machine. It converts the part program into command signals to precisely control the machine's direction, speed, and cutting processes. It sends and receives signals to control cutting processes, machine functions such as feed, height control movement, and
safety components.
Material
General purpose steel, more commonly known as iron. If the work is in another material, we will evaluate the possibility of doing it. Thicknesses vary according to requirements, but we generally work with 3mm thick material. Steel is one of the most common metals used for structural applications. It is strong, tough, ductile, malleable, and weldable.
The panels measure: 97.5 cm wide x 197.5 cm long. Including the necessary frame for support, they can measure 101.5 x 201.5 cm, and the measurements can be further varied depending on the width of the frame.

Yes, in most cases the design can be modified to be larger, which may result in a variation of the final price. Customized products usually have a higher price mainly because they break with the efficiency and savings of mass production. In short, it's exclusivity, extra time, attention to detail, and specific materials that are required to create something unique for you.
Finishes
Not necessarily. Rust is the natural process of iron. If you wish to stop the process, once you receive the product, we recommend giving it a finish with primer + anti-corrosive or opting for natural maintenance. Any rust growth is easily removed with fine metal sandpaper.
At IronPig, we prefer natural finishes because we like the appearance of steel. Natural options can be combined to maintain the noble look of the material. If you would like to know about our finishes, we invite you to view the list of finishes.
Otherwise, if the client wishes to do the finishing themselves, we recommend exploring the possibilities offered by the market, as there are many options for maximum anti-corrosion protection.
Oil forms a layer that insulates rusted metal from water and humidity in the environment. This way, it protects it against further corrosion, which is what causes rust. If you have WD-40 at home, it will work well for light lubrication and short-term corrosion prevention. WD-40 is not technically formulated as a penetrating oil. It does not break down or penetrate corrosion as well as other dedicated products (Kroil, PB B'laster, or Seafoam Deep Creep) do, but it will work in a pinch simply because it is a thin and light oil. None of them technically dissolve rust; they only provide a medium for rust dust to slide away from where it accumulated.
Special care must be taken when placing iron on light-colored walls. Rust is a natural process that will continue to advance over time, and if exposed to rain and wind, it can stain. If you value the natural look, your object will not require much maintenance. In some cases, it may be necessary to apply a protective layer periodically to minimize the effects of corrosion.
You can let it rust naturally or use a protective layer to keep rust at bay.
Natural protection options include wax, such as beeswax, shoe polish, horse grease, and petroleum jelly. These are easy to find in supermarkets and local stores. Ideally, use a colorless one to preserve the material's appearance.
We recommend taking advantage of a warm day for proper application. Any of these can be adhered to the metal with a cotton cloth, little by little with gentle, circular motions. Apply it in layers to the metal and allow drying time between each application. Once dry, the result can be polished by rubbing with a piece of old wool fabric.
For anti-corrosion paint and anti-corrosion primers, we recommend the Rust Oleum brand. A good quality paint brand, available in major hardware stores. It comes in aerosol/spray format, has many color options and is easy to apply. You can paint directly on the metal, but if you want to do so and forget about corrosion, follow the product instructions and remember to apply a layer of primer first and then the paint. It is always important to read the product instructions before applying it.
Payments
We accept bank transfers and offer a secure, private, and encrypted payment platform. We protect and do not store our customers' payment information.
The online payment system allows for secure transactions as all financial information (credit card number, expiration date, etc.) goes directly to SSL Secure Shopping, which, thanks to a system consisting of an SSL 128-bit cryptography protocol and Verisign Certificate, guarantees the security of online transactions. For this reason, IronPig does not have access to your credit card data and therefore cannot store or retain it in any way. Read Privacy Policy.
The shipping cost is calculated based on destination, volume, and weight.
The shipping cost is provided by the agency we work with, which is why we do not know the final cost until the product is fully packaged and ready to be dispatched.
We can provide an approximate value based on estimates.
Returns and Refunds
Our intention is always to ensure that our customers love the product they are going to buy. If you feel regret a few hours after making your purchase, you can contact us within the same day and we will cancel it ipso facto.
We meticulously check every product before it is dispatched, but if any error or manufacturing defect occurs, we will be 100% responsible.
Before buying, we invite you to read our refund policy.
Installation
It may seem difficult, but it is quite simple, and we can guide the process. In most cases, the product has an adequate anchor that is not visible, and like a picture, it only needs to be hung, remaining secure and firm but slightly separated from the supporting wall. In other cases, when greater fixation is required, it will be necessary to install it with anchor bolts, tighten nuts, or use adhesive.
Other types of anchors may be considered depending on the object, and we are open to evaluating suggestions. If you have an anchoring idea that you would like to include in your order, you just need to mention it when requesting a quote.

Files and Images
We can work with various types of images. Ideally, they should be in vector format, for example an Illustrator ".ai" file. We generally request a ".jpg" image in good resolution (300 dpi) if needed to start.
Vector images are images described by shapes such as circles and squares. The shapes are precise mathematical descriptions of the image and can be scaled up or down without becoming blurry or pixelated. They are used in most aspects of graphic design. They are used for CNC machine cutting, posters, signs, embroidery, etc.
At IronPig, we use vector images, starting from the original image, which can be a freehand drawing, photo, or sketch. This way, we maximize the resolution of the cutting machine.
DXF (Drawing Exchange Format) is a file format for computer-aided design drawings. This format is used by AutoCAD and other programs on the market.
AI files are Adobe Illustrator's native vector file type. With them, designers can infinitely scale drawings and images without affecting their resolution.
We recommend reviewing the images by zooming in on the nodes to avoid errors in reading and subsequent cutting of the piece.
You can send us your file ready for cutting in PDF, AI, DXF, or DWG format. In that case, we will review it to assess if we can manufacture it.
If it is an assembly drawing, you must specify the requested parts.
Before sending us a file, consider the following points:
1.- The drawing must be ready for cutting or in editable mode.
2.- Ensure the format is properly dimensioned. Measurements should be expressed in millimeters and the design at a 1:1 scale.
3.- It is important to consider centers and voids; for them to be supported, they must be joined with "bridges" or "ties". You can zoom in on photos of our work to understand this part.
4.- Check your file to ensure it does not have intercepted or incomplete lines or empty contours.
You don't need to have the vectorized design. We can do it if it's a job with creative freedom. Company logos must be in the required format to be able to scale it, rectify dimensions, and evaluate the cut.
DXF or AI files can be opened with AutoCAD and Illustrator respectively. AutoCAD is a file format created by AutoDesk. Illustrator is an Adobe program.
Before going to the cutting table, the files must be in DXF format.
